The Iheya Moonlight Marathon is an event held each year on the Saturday falling closest to the harvest moon. The marathon starts in the evening and lasts through the night, a rare sight. It is popular among beginners and people who may not withstand the heat and sunlight of daytime. The mostly flat route makes use of the ocean coastline, letting you see the changing color of the sky and scenery as you go.
