Like other countries around the world, Japan is continuing its efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Japanese government is currently limiting travel, gatherings and encouraging citizens to stay at home. In addition, Okinawa Govenor Denny Tamaki has requested to refrain from all travel to Okinawa.
We stand as one to combat COVID-19. Our priority in Okinawa is to protect the health and safety of everyone. We send our love, prayers and support to everyone who is battling through this tough time. Through the darkest times comes the brightest light and we hope to welcome you all to Okinawa again sometime soon.
Okinawa Prefecture has established a help desk for COVID-19 as well as the countermeasures for virus infection as follows.
Reception hours: Everyday, around the clock
Available languages: English, Chinese (Beijing, Cantonese), Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Tagalog, French, Nepali, Malaysian, Italian, German, Russian (16 languages)
*For foreign tourists who don’t need to be carried urgently, we will listen to their symptoms on the phone, and give them advice and information on the clinics that can respond in foreign languages.
